Tolle Unterkunft mit einem traumhaften Panorama. Sehr gepflegte Anlage. Die Gastgeber Nadja und vor Allemand Bruno sind tolle herzliche Menschen. Von einem netten Lächeln bis zu einer Flasche selbstgemachten Rotwein erhielt man alles.

We liked it very much. It is beautifully situated on a slope which allows you to look over the whole valley. One of us also had a short health problem, which the two hosts helped with very quickly

Both hosts Nadia and Bruno are super friendly and sweet! We'd highly recommend to try their 'Tagliere' (a delicious selection of regional meat/sausages and cheese) for only 10€ including a bottle of wine. On top of that they surprised us with fruits/vegetables and home made ricotta! The apartment was very clean, cute and very well equipped. The view from the pool is breathtaking.

We loved staying here. The views from the pool were outstanding and we were surrounded by beautifull chestnut forrests, with some lovely easy walking. It is in a small working farm with sheep, goats and chickens. The owner gave us free eggs and homemade wine. We stayed in the appartment named Buffardello which was well equipped except there were only 2 mediocre wine glasses despite there being a big dishwasher. We thought the decor was dull and could do with being refreshed. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The owners were really friendly and they had a very friendly dog.The nearby village was a beautiful hilltop medieval one with a good cafe/restaurant and a little shop. It was easy to walk to. To do a proper shop it was a bit of a trek to the local town as the accommodation is located at 700 metres up a road with lots of hairpins. We did some of the local walks all of which were in the forrest and also some hill walking further a field. It is easy to visit Barga and other local towns. Our apartment sitting out area was a bit disappointing as it did not have any spectacular views. It was adjacent to the road which luckily is not a busy one. We noted that some of the other apartments did have the great views and also were furnished in a much more pleasing way. The pool was a great size and we had it to ourselves alot of the time. We loved this place but with some improvements to the accommodation it could be amazing. We would heartily recommend it but try and get one of the better appointed and furnished apartments.

This is a lovely place on a farm high above the valley. The road up is only four miles but very twisty. When we arrived, we found no one there but there were two apartments with keys in the door and no clue as to which was ours. We chose the one with most photos on our confirmation but there were photos of both places. The second one was very dark and we would have been very disappointed with it. The apartment we had was let down only by three things, namely the absence of even a small oven, poor lighting in the main sitting area and the shower head should have been replaced rather than ineffectively taped up. On the other hand, the bed was comfortable, Bruno gave us eggs, tomatoes and wine, all from the farm. The swimming pool is beautifully set but was a touch cold in late September Walks up the hill from Sillico were good. We really liked this place and would give it 8/10. If we had been in the other apartment, it would have been more like 5.

Great view. Owners are really nice and pay attention to details. We were even provided with lovely fresh eggs and a nice bottle of wine. We enjoyed our stay. 5 STARS

Experience the ways of the local people, get to know the horses, sheep and goats and relax round the pool. Exploring the local area, enjoying the fresh mountain air and absorbing the ambience of the ancient villages which can transport you back in time.

The centre of the village of Silico, with its tiny piazzas and impressive buildings is 2 minutes walk from the farm. The local bar and restaurant is well known in the area and is the local’s best kept secret for watching the glorious sunsets.

Close to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana the capital of the Garfagnana valley, Sillico is a delightful medieval village. The village sits 700 meters above sea level and offers panoramic views of the Apuan Alps and Apennines mountains.

The village is full of character and history and has a bar with an outside terrace providing those all important views, a popular restaurant and small local shop providing basic supplies.

The nearby village of Pieve Fosciana has 2 supermarkets, a few cafes, bakers and butchers shops as well as an excellent restaurant. The large market town is called Castelnuovo, here you will find many shops, restaurants, bar/cafes and the nearest train station that links with Lucca (50 minutes). Other nearby places of interest are San Pelegrino, Corfino, Barga, the fortress at Verucole and Piazza al Sercchio.

The village of Silico is within easy distance of the market town of Castelnuovo. The farm is in a good position for enjoying country life with the bustle of the nearby market town 7km away. Within easy distance by car or train of the art cities of Lucca, Siena, Florence and Pisa this is an ideal location for a visit to Tuscany.
