Beautifully located in a peaceful olive grove and surrounded by mature gardens, Villa Oliva is a lovely 4 bedroom villa with a private swimming pool, 3 outdoor dining areas, sun loungers and a BBQ.
The villa is bright and spacious with a living room, well equipped kitchen with large dining area (seats 8), 2 double (each with private balcony), 2 twin bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and 2 bathrooms. There is plenty of room to relax in comfort..
Externally, the large garden, surrounded by olive groves lends itself to outdoor living, with shaded areas outside the house for al fresco dining or relaxing whilst taking in the lovely view.
The house is just below the tiny village of Campo, and a few minutes drive from the small town of Gallicano. The ancient and beautiful festival town of Barga can be seen from the garden and the villa is only a few kilometres drive from the market town of Castelnuovo. This is a perfect villa for a lovely family holiday.

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Oliva, is located in the beautiful and peaceful town of Campo in the Garfagnana region. The house is spacious and so well equipped although there is no Aircon. The fans provided helped on the hot nights. Cristina left us a welcome basket with lots of local produce which was delightful. The pool was loved by the kids and the villa was surrounded by lots of local produce which we were allowed to eat such as grapes, olives, herbs and fruit. The view from the villa across the hills was breath taking and enjoyed at every opportunity. We visited lots of fabulous towns such as Lucca, Gallicano, Pisa, Castelnuovo & even went to the beach for the day at Livorno. The only downside was the number of midgie bites we got which isn't the fault of the villa or owners. it was just an inconvenience and irritation. We would highly recommend this property to others and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

A beautiful villa in the Tuscan hills with lots of great villages and towns nearby to visit. We were met at the villa by Cristina, who was very friendly and helpful and had even left us a welcome basket of provisions, including the olive oil that is produced there. We were also given some really useful notes on things to do in the area, which we used a lot throughout the week. The kids loved the pool, which was lovely and warm and a good size for swimming. A fantastic week and thoroughly recommended!

I can only repeat what has been written in all of the 5-star reviews below. My wife and I came to Villa Oliva for a dual 60th birthday celebration with our two sons, their partners and our 3 year old granddaughter. The house easily accommodated seven of us. Everything about the house and garden with its beautiful pool was superb. (Our granddaughter swam with water wings very confidently after this holiday). Cristina and Mauro welcomed us and came back in the week to change used towels, etc, for clean ones. We hired a large car at Pisa Airport that allowed us to make local trips as well as to Lucca and parts of Cinque Terre. (Note - The bends up and down to the villa are easily negotiated!). We loved everywhere we went and everybody was so friendly, helpful and patient when we were out and about. If, like us, you had never hired a property in Italy, I'd recommend Villa Oliva as a beautiful and peaceful place to unwind - and as a perfect location from which to explore the beauty that is Italy!

The location is stunning with breathtaking views. Cristina and Mauro were perfect hosts and had excellent knowledge of the area and places to visit. The house is spacious and the kitchen well equipped. The pool is brilliant and very refreshing on a hot sunny day. The peace and tranquility is only broken by the sound of the bell tower ringing on the hour and half hour and you can’t help but count the bongs. The road to the house is narrow but you get used to it and we saw deer at nighttime on the roadside & in the bushes. We visited Barga, Lucca, Gallicano, Pisa, Castelnuovo & the markets are great tho they do finish at 1pm. A great holiday and highly recommend this property.

This is a beautiful property. It is located in a very quiet area, but plenty close by to see - a car is a must. The roads are very narrow but you get used to them. Pool is not heated, but refreshing on hot days. Landscaping is thoughtful and creates a private oasis in the middle of an olive grove. House is cozy with a well appointed kitchen. WiFi is pay as you go (save for a 10 € credit) which would have been nice to know in advance. Great outdoor living space and the views cannot be beat. We stayed with our 2.5 year old and had a very relaxing stay. Day trips to Barga, Vagli de Sotto, and the coast were highlights of the area. Hosts were wonderful.

Our group had a wonderful time staying at Villa Olivi, perched on a hillside with a spectacular view of Barga in the valley, surrounded by mountains. The owners Cristina and Mauro were very friendly and helpful attending to our needs. The Villa was well equipped and even had different food items left to use upon our arrival. Molly, from the Friends of Tuscany was very helpful in supplying us with extensive information about the area. We used Simone for shuttling our group from Pisa airport and for a number of tours to Lucca, Cinque Terre and the Chianti region. It was great to sit back and relax while hearing so many local stories about Tuscany. We can't save enough about how much we enjoyed the trips with Simone. For local trips, we used Massimo's taxi service from Barga with great success. We had a wonderful trip and would highly recommend Villa Olivi especially if you would enjoy being out in the countryside with easy access to major cities like Lucca, Pisa and Florence.

Myself and my family including my 80 year old father had the most fantastic holiday at Villa Oliva. The villa is set in a tranquil hillside hamlet. The only interruption was the sound of church bells which are lovely. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool and exploring other local villages. The villa offered roomy, clean accommodation with the most magnificent views. We hope to visit again!

Our host Christina are an amazing person, always smiling. Love her! The house and view are really wonderful, loved sitting in the garden with the swallows flying around you. It´s a small road and a narrow opening to Villa Olivi, so do not use the biggest car! You most visit Lucca and eat icecream, Pisa and the market in Garfagnana, every Thursday. The poolarea are stunning, our grovne-up-children became children again. It´s cleaned up 2 times a week. You have a churchbell ringing every halfhour (from 7am to 22 pm), it became a nice touch, you could not help yourself counting the strokes. Love to come back!!

We were overwhelmed by the view and the house when we arrived. The photographs on the website didn't do it justice - the rooms were far nicer than we'd expected and the views were stunning. The owners, Cristina and Maura, had left plenty of lovely food for us as well as fruit picked from the gardens. The villa was very well equipped with plenty of outdoor space. In addition to the pool area, there were two eating areas outside, a massive barbecue, and places to sit and read or admire the fabulous view. We would go back again as the villa accommodates two families very comfortably. Cristina and Maura couldn't do enough for us and came regularly to clean the pool as well as answer our questions and provide information about the local area. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area as well as great walks from the house.

With the gates closed at the pool we could let the kids play without any worries. Within an hours drive you find both beaches, wineyards and beautiful cities like Pisa and Lucca. Thanks to Christina for hosting our vacation.

The house has everything You need to have pleasant and relaxing vacation, and the owners was very helpfull in all matters. There is a BIG supermarket close by, so our advice would be, to fill the refrigerator and and enjoy evening meals on the terrace with a stunning view over the valley, after a day by the pool. And a little warning, after the last turn on the road towards the house, the road gets VERY steep and VERY narrow between two houses..... This was the 2nd time we rented the house, and we would certainly rent again, if we were to spend our vacation in these parts of Italy again.
The house is just below the tiny village of Campo, and a few minutes drive from the small town of Gallicano. The ancient and beautiful festival town of Barga can be seen from the house, and it's only a few kilometres drive from the market town of Castelnuovo. Lucca is a 40 minute drive from the house and also only 40 minutes by train from Gallicano. Pisa is 1.5 hours away, Florence 2 hours, Cinque Terre 2 hours and Siena 3 hours. The nearest airport is Pisa airport.
