This large 17th Century beautifully restored villa is situated in the small atmospheric village of Sillicano, near the historical market town of Castelnuovo and in the beautiful Garfagnana region of Tuscany.
The villa has been completely modernised but retains lovely features such as beamed ceilings, original tiled floors and huge stone and wood fireplaces. Attention has been paid to providing antique and characterful furnishings. The villa has a lovely veranda/terrace with hammock and other furniture and panoramic views of the valley.
There is a 10 x 4 m private pool for the guests to enjoy.
Situated in the small village of Sillicano, the villa is very comfortable and spacious. Six bedrooms; 4 double bedrooms (one with shorter children’s bed), 2 twin bedroom (one with 3 single beds), 3 sitting rooms, well equipped kitchen, dining room, 6 bathrooms, covered veranda with stunning views across the valley. The hammock bed and comfortable furniture add to this special relaxing space.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 15th Century Villa in Northern Tuscany. The outdoor pool was well used in the daytime and the open fire was lovely to sit around and chat in the evenings. The Villa was well furnished, with areas to congregate as a large group of 13 (in the dining room and around the pool on loungers) as well as plenty of alternative spaces including 2 balconies and seating areas indoors for smaller groupings and/or a bit of quiet time. The style is rustic and characterful and this building is very old so the sound does 'travel'; it's perfect if you're looking for a lovely authentic villa vacation in beautiful rural surroundings, however it's not the option to go for if five star luxury furnishings and 'mod cons' are your thing. The location is also worth noting - this is a perfect location for people who want to get away from tourist traps and experience the stunning natural beauty of the Tuscan Mountains and small local villages but it is fairly remote so be aware that you will need a car and a confident driver as the road in is very windy, with a few steep drops. It's not suitable for less able travellers as the car park is about 100m below the house and it's a very steep walk. The views are totally worth it though. The owner was very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We loved the place - the décor is fantastic and the there was every thing we needed. The owners were great and very helpful. I would really recommend the villa. There were 8 of us and the whole experience was just brilliant. Can't wait to go again
Located in the village of Sillicano in the Garfagnana region of Tuscany, rich in traditions that are still practiced today, the villa dominates the hill it sits on and can be seen from far down the valley.
There is a little shop in the village where you can buy fresh local produce and other essentials.
The large market town of Castelnuovo is only 5km away, here you will find many shops, restaurants, bar/cafes and the nearest train station that links with Lucca (50 minutes). Other nearby places of interest are San Pelegrino, Corfino, Silico, Barga, the fortress at Verucole and Piazza al Sercchio.
Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With stunning scenery it is the perfect area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities.
