Sleeping up to 15 people, it’s ideal for family gatherings or group holidays. The house is located just 50 minutes from Siena and 15 minutes from Pienza, with a café and trattoria in the nearby village (2 miles away).
The farmhouse is located near the historic Pilgrim’s Way, an ancient long-distance walking route that stretches from Canterbury in England to Rome, offering a peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The Kitchen and Dining Areas: The enthusiastic cook will find all the tools they need at La Francigena, including a pizza oven. The farmhouse, which was once divided into four large apartments, has been thoughtfully reconfigured by the owners, Antonella and Vanessa. The result is a large, well-equipped main kitchen with a huge dining table, perfect for group meals. There are also four additional kitchen-diners, allowing guests to enjoy a more private experience or prepare meals on a smaller scale.
Whether you want to join everyone in the main kitchen or have a quiet meal in one of the smaller kitchenettes, La Francigena offers the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy. Antonella and Vanessa have also created a large BBQ area on a shaded terrace next to the house, as well as a wood-burning oven for outdoor cooking. A second BBQ and dining table are located in a gazebo by the pool, with plenty of tables and chairs around the property to enjoy meals in the shade or under the stars.

Location:
• 15 minutes to Pienza.
• Close to Bagno Vignoni's thermal springs (6 miles), Pienza (9 miles), Montepulciano (13 miles), Montalcino (17 miles), and Siena (36 miles).
• Day trips to Florence (95 miles) and Rome (115 miles) are possible with easy access by car.
• Gallina (2 miles) is the nearest village with an excellent trattoria,
• Nearest train stations: Chiusi-Chianciano Terme & Buonconvento (30 minutes by car).
The farmhouse is beautifully located: for garden lovers the famous gardens of La Foce are only 15 minutes’ drive away, stunning Siena is an hours' drive away and the thermal springs at Bagno Vignoni are just 6.8 miles away (Saint Catherine of Siena and Florence's Medici family enjoyed taking the waters here).
Pienza, another Renaissance stunner of a town, is 15 minutes’ drive away and admired not only for its illustrious history, but also for its flavoursome ewe's milk cheeses and its fine wrought iron work. Small, picturesque villages abound in this area, offering eateries from the most basic to the most elegant. Gallina is almost too small to call a village, but it has an excellent trattoria and cafe a supermarket and other amenities can be found in San Quirico d'Orcia, 8.5 miles away.
Payment Policies
A partial payment in the amount of 25% of the grand total is due no later than 2 day(s) after confirmation of intention to book or upon booking if that date has already passed. Remaining payment is due no later than 56 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation must be made in writing. The cancellation charge will be the full deposit if you cancel before 56 days from the departure date. The following cancellation charges will also apply. Cancellation less than 56 days before departure 100% of the amount paid is chargeable. We will endeavour to re-book any cancelled booking and if successful will only charge you an administration fee of £30. If the villa is re-booked at a lower price then you will be refunded the difference.

We advise that you to take out holiday cancellation insurance. You are also asked to take out personal holiday insurance to cover such matters as travel, loss of money or belongings, accident, injury and medical expenses as the use of a property is entirely at the client’s risk. Should the owner be unable to provide the property after a booking has been confirmed, you will be immediately offered the choice of a another similar or better property or a refund in full.
