Casa Buffardello is a beautifully restored one bedroom apartment set within the grounds of a traditional working eco-farm in the tiny medieval village of Sillico. With sweeping views of the dramatic Apuan Alps and access to a panoramic infinity pool, this is real Tuscany far from the crowds.

Originally a barn, the apartment has been carefully restored with rustic charm and practical comfort in mind. Inside you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, Wi-Fi and comfortable living space ideal for couples or solo travellers wanting countryside peace without sacrificing essentials.

Outside, your private patio with table and loungers looks out across the mountains. Guests can use the shared infinity pool, BBQ and wood oven in the garden, and even help themselves to fresh tomatoes from the farm. The owners run the farm in the traditional Garfagnana way and are happy to share their produce and introduce guests to the animals, offering a genuinely immersive experience.

For those who like to explore, two electric mountain bikes are available for hire, and walking trails begin directly from the village. A children’s playground with a flying fox makes this a surprisingly good option even for a small family.

The location strikes the perfect balance between peaceful rural life and convenience. The centre of Sillico, with its tiny piazzas and well-known local restaurant, is just a two minute walk away. The market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana is only 7 km away, offering shops, restaurants and the nearest train station with direct links to Lucca in around 50 minutes. Casa Buffardello sits in the tiny medieval hilltop village of Sillico, 700 metres above sea level, with wide open views across the Apuan Alps and the Apennines. This is not polished postcard Tuscany. This is the real thing.

From the farm, it’s a simple 2 minute walk into the heart of the village where you’ll find stone piazzas, impressive historic buildings, a small local shop and a much loved bar and restaurant with a terrace perfectly positioned for sunset views. Evenings here are about simple food, local wine, and watching the mountains change colour as the sun drops.

Sillico has a strong community spirit and hosts village festivals throughout the year, particularly in summer. Expect relaxed food festivals celebrating local produce, outdoor dinners in the piazza, music evenings and traditional gatherings that bring residents and visitors together. Payment Policies

A partial payment in the amount of 25% of the grand total is due no later than 2 day(s) after confirmation of intention to book or upon booking if that date has already passed. Remaining payment is due no later than 56 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation must be made in writing. The cancellation charge will be the full deposit if you cancel before 56 days from the departure date. The following cancellation charges will also apply. Cancellation less than 56 days before departure 100% of the amount paid is chargeable. We will endeavour to re-book any cancelled booking and if successful will only charge you an administration fee of £30. If the villa is re-booked at a lower price then you will be refunded the difference.

We advise that you to take out holiday cancellation insurance. You are also asked to take out personal holiday insurance to cover such matters as travel, loss of money or belongings, accident, injury and medical expenses as the use of a property is entirely at the client’s risk. Should the owner be unable to provide the property after a booking has been confirmed, you will be immediately offered the choice of a another similar or better property or a refund in full.
