Casa Linchetto – 1 Bedroom Farm Apartment with Infinity Pool in Sillico, Garfagnana
Casa Linchetto - 1 bedroom farm apartment, infinity pool, walk to restaurant
One of four apartments on this working farm, Casa Linchetto offers panoramic views of the dramatic Apuan Alps and the Apennines. The farm is run in the traditional Garfagnana way, and guests experience genuine rural life surrounded by mountain scenery, fresh air and authentic village atmosphere.
The apartment has been restored from a barn and finished in a rustic Tuscan style. It includes one double bedroom with bathroom, an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, and a sofa bed for additional flexibility. The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a washing machine and Wi-Fi.
Outside, there is a private dining area just outside the kitchen door for al fresco meals, as well as a patio with table and loungers. Guests have use of the panoramic infinity pool, wood oven and BBQ in the garden. A well-designed children’s playground with a Flying Fox makes this a surprisingly practical option for small families.
Guests are invited to enjoy produce from the farm, including tomatoes and herbs from the garden, and the owner can arrange electric mountain bike hire for exploring the surrounding hills.
The centre of Sillico, with its restaurant and bar, is just a 2 minute walk away, offering the rare combination of countryside peace and walkable amenities.
Casa Linchetto is ideal for couples or small families seeking authentic Tuscany, mountain views and access to walking, biking and village life, while still being within reach of Tuscany’s art cities.
Property Information
Sillico – A Village with Views
Casa Linchetto sits in Sillico, a tiny medieval mountain village at 700 metres above sea level with sweeping views across the Apuan Alps and Apennines.
The centre of the village is just two minutes on foot. You’ll find small piazzas, historic stone buildings, a local shop and a popular bar and restaurant with a terrace that is well known locally for its sunset views. Sillico hosts traditional festivals throughout the year, particularly during summer months, when communal dinners and food celebrations bring the village to life. These are genuine local events centred around community and traditional produce.
Staying here means experiencing everyday mountain life, meeting local people and enjoying a pace of life that feels unchanged for generations.
Practical Amenities Nearby
The nearby village of Pieve Fosciana has two supermarkets, several cafés, bakers and butchers as well as an excellent local restaurant. This makes day-to-day shopping easy and convenient, while still allowing you to stay in a peaceful mountain setting.
The larger market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana is just 7 km away. Here you will find many shops, restaurants, cafés and the nearest train station, which links directly to Lucca in around 50 minutes.
Garfagnana – Hidden Tuscany
The Garfagnana is often described as “Hidden Tuscany”. Set between the Apuan Alps and the Apennine mountains, it offers dramatic scenery, cooler summer temperatures and excellent value for food and drink.
Mountain restaurants are a highlight of the region, serving homemade pasta, local meats, porcini mushrooms and house wine at sensible prices. Summer brings traditional village sagre food festivals celebrating local produce such as farro, chestnuts and seasonal specialities.
Outdoor activities available locally include mountain biking, hill walking, horse riding and gorge walking. The walking territory here is far more dramatic than the rolling hills many associate with Tuscany.
Nearby places worth visiting include Barga, San Pellegrino in Alpe, Corfino, Piazza al Serchio and the impressive Fortezza delle Verrucole. You can also explore Orecchiella Natural Park for forest walks and wildlife spotting.
