Alles in allem ein schönes Haus, allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Außenanlagen traumhaft. Pool, Garten und Außenküche sind top. Die Lage ist sehr einsam und man braucht für alles ein Auto.

We have just come back from 2 weeks at Villa Cavani... wow! What a villa! We were 2 families, total 4 adults and 4 children. We arrived very late on the first night, 10.30pm, we had already arranged a home cooked meal and small shopping trip prior to our arrival, what an absolute god send that was after arriving so late. Waking in the morning was just out of this world, the views, the pool, the house all so welcoming and we loved having all our meals out by the pool. The owners, Lorenzo and Alessandra, were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. For perhaps the first time ever, we didn't want to come home. Beautiful. Just beautiful.

We had a lovely time staying here for our friends Wedding nearby. The villa is big, has a lovely pool and the views from the garden do take your breathe away! Would definitely recommend as a get away with some mates. Can be a little tricky to find, but that's just the way the local roads are

We arrived at short notice and the family made us feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. The facilities at the house were excellent: clean and generally well maintained. We especially enjoyed the outdoor room which meant we could eat outside every night. The local restaurant was amazing with outstanding food and service. They kindly arranged a taxi for us on our last night which let us sample even more of their excellent wines. There is a super fish restaurant near Conad in Castelnuovo as well as super places to eat ices and cakes in the town. , A great place to stay. We also want to thank Friends of Tuscany who were brilliant with exceptional service and support.

--------------------------------------------------- English We can fully recommend the house. It is well equipped, the pool terrific. We were 8 people and had enough space. Alessandra is a very welcoming host and has always taken care of if anything was. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is really great and we cooked a lot, the fridge is also suitable for large purchases. Small criticisms: the jacuzzi was unfortunately only repaired in our second week and could not be used in our first week (although we had directly criticized). The bathrooms are a bit damp and in the house are a few mold spots to find; This can hardly be avoided in the climate. Somewhat awkwardly was the communication: we were only asked for change of linen, which we renounced. We did not know that we would get fresh towels after a week. So we have just washed in between, which is not so bad. Conclusion: overall a great holiday, also from the location I would recommend the house at any time. We had a good time!

The propert was 5* without a doubt in the facilities that it has (pizza oven, BBQ, pool, hot tub, outdoor eating area and kitchenette, football goal, table tennis, table football) and all was to a very, very high standard. Just as importantly the owners were brilliant - we couldn't have asked to meet nicer people. Coneveniently placed an hour or so from Florence and Lucca, with nice restaurants nearby and a stunning view from the pool. Really thankful that we chose this property to visit!

An Amazing Villa in the Clouds!

We stayed in this lovely villa for a week in October. We were 5 friends travelling through Italy, and this was by far our favourite location! You are literally situated above the clouds. The views are just breath-taking and we certainly got full use of the outdoor pizza oven and the outdoor Hot Tub! The drive up the mountain can be a bit terrifying, so be sure you have a confident driver. Once you have done the drive up and down a few times, it becomes manageable. There is a Conad Grocery store about 15 minutes from the villa where you can get everything you need. The villa is fully equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. The bedrooms are a bit outdated and there is really only 3 proper bedrooms. 2 have queen size beds and the other 3 rooms have singles. The 3rd bedroom on the upper floor is a small bed for a child. On the main floor there is a nice room with a single bed and a small sofa, but it does have an en-suite. The 5th bedroom is on the main floor and it very old and small and smells of mildew...i don't think anyone would want to sleep in there... We had great weather and spent most of our time outside. There is an outdoor eating area and a second small kitchen. The pool looked lovely but it is not heated and was too cold for swimming. It took us 2 days to heat up the Hot Tub, but once we did, it was a daily occurrence! The owner met us there when we arrived, she did not speak any English, but we managed to understand her directions of the house. She gave us the phone number of her son, who speaks English, and we were able to send a text message to him anytime we had a question. They made several recommendations for daily excursions to us. We spent one day exploring Barga, about 10 minutes away and even got in a cooking lesson at Cook & Dine with Rita Tuscan Style, a definite highlight! We also drove to Lucca for a day (about 45 minutes away) and drove through the Carrara Marble Mountains to get to Cinque Terre for another day. The location is great for exploring the small medieval villages and is a great place to stay with family or friends travelling through Italy. We will definitely be back one day!

Our family stayed here for October half term break and found the house included many extras- hot tub, pool table, outdoor grill, ample beds and bathrooms for 8. The cons: quite a long and winding drive going up and down the mountain each day and, as we had little ones, carsickness was an issue. It took us about 90 minutes to drive to Pisa (from there we took a train to Florence) and 2 hours to drive from the villa to La Spezia. Also, at this time of year and at this altitude, the house was cold and the heating not very efficient, including for the hot tub. Pool was also too cold to use at this season. We were able to buy our groceries at a large Conad supermarket about 10 min drive away in Gallicano that was open until 20:30. The highlight was enjoying our last dinner outside at this beautiful Tuscan villa with plenty of space for the children to play. Thank you Alessandra and Lorenzo

Villa Cavani was an excellent place to stay, an eclectic mix of modern and traditional . The Villa was really well equipped, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect with fantastic views across the valley. A car is a must though. Restaurants and supermarkets are not too far away. The owner and her son were amazing, really kind, nice helpful people. The time of year we went meant that the pool was a little bracing but it was all part of the fun, the hot tub made up for it! We would definitely recommend staying here, the region is stunning and would love to go back one day.

We were staying in the villa for a family wedding in Castlenuovo it was perfect for 9/10 people living in the house with lots of space outside for visiting friends & family to enjoy the pool & hot tub. The bbq, pizza oven, & outside kitchen are a great facility& were well utilised. The view was food for the soul even on the 1 day that the thunder rolled in. Alesandra was very helpful on the couple of occasions we needed some assistance. Would definitely recommend Villa Cavani!!

The pictures really do not do the villa justice. It is a great family villa in lovely surroundings, ideal for a relaxing holiday. The inside decor is dark, but very traditional, with lots of bedrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite and there 2 other bathrooms. The pool is large and kept very clean, albeit a little cold in September. We had two teenage children, so to have the jacuzzi, table tennis and the football table, these were an added bonus and great fun! The outdoor BBQ and pizza oven were great and the indoor kitchen was very well equipped. Car hire is recommended as you are a little out of the way, but there are lots lots of towns/villages to visit with restaurants. Alexandra, the owner and her son were delightful and very helpful. We will definitely be returning! Great place!

This villa is in a great location, up a hil in rural Tuscany. Commanding great views of the valley. You need a car, but nothing is very far away (restaurants, supermarket etc). The outside area is lovely with a big pool and jacuzzi. there is also a garden kitchen, making it very easy to eat outside. The wood fired pizza oven works great and the bbq area is perfect. Inside it is really nicely done, and there is tonnes of space. Best (family) activity we did was https://vimeo.com/113223663. Give it a go. I would not hesitate to go back.
